Random portrait invitation

Hi, I’m Alex! You can find out more about me here. Photo and video shooting are among my crafts and passions.

One of my ongoing art projects is to take portraits of selected people I randomly meet.

If you check out this website or my Instagram, you’ll see some examples.

You’re on this page because our paths have recently crossed somewhere, and I’m inviting you for a shoot (please don’t share this link with other people, the invite is personal).

If you like a nice portrait for free keep reading, otherwise no worries.

Ok, but how does it work? It’s simple. Once you write me back, we pick a place and time to meet in the next few days. We’ll do a quick shooting session, which can last from a few minutes up to an hour. Finally, I review the material, share it with you, and publish any nice shots. That’s it.

I know you probably have more questions… so here are some answers.

No, it’s completely free. For real.

This is an art project, and your participation would be for free. On the other hand, after the material has been reviewed and edited, you receive a free copy of the nice photos or videos we shoot, which you can use on your social media, include in your portfolio, share with your friends, or keep as personal memories.

The most interesting shots can get published on my Instagram and on this website.

I retain the rights to the material we shoot. But if someone you know is interested in using it to promote their business, please get us in touch and we can discuss the terms. In case of non-profit initiatives, the material can be used for free with the only requirement of mentioning the author.

Of course! Bring anyone you like, as long as they’re aware that the shooting is not going to be focusing on them.

No way! You choose how to be portrayed. We’ll pick together a style that suits you and represents you well.

We can choose the location together once we know the day and time that we’re going to meet. It’s either going to be in a studio, with proper lighting, or outside somewhere with a nice light.

Not really, you can wear anything you like, that fits with the location and time of the year. It’s also good to have some accessories to play with, that can add an extra element to the image. For example sunglasses, a scarf, a jacket, a hat, etc. If you have any of these available, that fit with your look, bring them! Otherwise no worries.
